I get kidded a lot because I love card tricks. I have done card tricks all my life and they are what got me into magic and one of the things that keeps me interested. Card tricks are great because of the wide variety of effects. You can have some very simple self working card trick or some knuckle busting effect that requires multiple difficult slight of hand moves. Or anywhere in between and the audience response is always the same. That of complete mystery and a “how did you do that” look on their faces. Card tricks can be used in any magic act from kids shows to adult ones, from professional to beginners skill levels, and from mentalist acts to walk around restaurant magic. they are in my opinion, the most powerful tools in a magician’s arsenal. So don’t under estimate the power of a card trick, your audience will love it. And visit me at the Magic of Randy and put a little magic into your life.

Are Magic Tricks Easier?
Are magic tricks of today easier to perform than they were a few years ago. I think so. It seems that gimmicked cards and coins are taking the place of slights of hand. Tricks today are being made, or remade, so that anyone is capable of doing them with very little or no slights. Now don’t get me wrong, this is not a bad thing. I’m just making an observation. Although I do think that this methodology does take something away from the trick. What do you think?

My New Web Site
My new website, designed by my son, Michael, is now fully operational and I think its looks really good. Please let me know what you think about it. If you have a magic website in Ohio, a local magic organization, or a magical event coming up. I would be glad to advertise it on my website. I also am looking for fellow magicians to trade links to our websites. Thanks and stop back often.

Looking Forward To The June Joshua Jay Lecture
I very excited because in June IBM Ring # 243, The Canton Magicrafters, will be hosting Canton Ohio’s own Joshua Jay. Josh was a member of our ring and will be in town to promote his new book. We were lucky enough to grab him for a lecture. Stay tuned for a review of his lecture in my future posts. It should be a good one. In the mean time, put a little magic into your life and visit me at the magic of Randy.
Danny Archer Lecture
Our IBM ring here in Canton Ohio, Ring # 243, The Canton Magicrafters, just hosted Danny Archer for his amazing lecture. If you have not seen Danny Archer, you should really make it a point to do so. He has some of the most commercial, practical, and easy to magic that I have seen in a long time. It’s really magic that you can and will perform. His lecture only features 2 card tricks, but a lot of mentalism, coin, and some really fun magic and ideas. I loved the lecture and I highly recommend booking Danny Archer for your magic club meeting when he comes to your area. So put a little magic into your life and visit me at the magic of Randy.
